Tips

line-wrapping

How to wrap a paragraph's lines when over 80 characters

(org-fill-paragraph) ;; Might be bound to M-q

Make cookies ( [ 0% ] or [ 0/0 ] ) recursive

  • Just consider TODO-like headings

:PROPERTIES:
       :COOKIE_DATA: todo recursive
       :END:

  • Consider also checkboxes (- [ X ] )

:PROPERTIES:
       :COOKIE_DATA: recursive
       :ID: cdbe6c26-5f37-4e3b-ac31-b11f39f01bfe
       :END:

  • This values are inherited by default, to avoid this set COOKIE_DATA to empty

:PROPERTIES:
       :COOKIE_DATA:
       :END:

Customization

Run (customize-group 'org-appearance)

Customize section asterisk/start prefix

(setq org-bullets-bullet-list
             '(;; Bullets taken from org-bullets and org-superstar-mode
               "🞛"
               "◉"
               "○"
               "▷"
               "✚"
               "✜"
               "◆"
               "♠"
               "♣"
               "▶"
               "✸"
               "✿"))

Change the emphasis/quote markers

Check the `org-emphasis-alist` property. Its default value is:

'(("*" bold)
       ("/" italic)
       ("_" underline)
       ("=" org-verbatim verbatim)
       ("~" org-code verbatim)
       ("+" (:strike-through t)))

You may update it by calling `(customize)` and introducing `org-emphasis-alist`.
